About

Scott Carson, President

Scott has been in the mortgage, finance, and banking industry since 2001 and an active real estate investor since 2002.  He has been actively buying notes on residential and commercial properties since 2005.  Along with being a nationwide speaker and educator himself on notes, creative real estate, and raising private capital, he has also worked to nurture hundreds of real estate investors all across the country.  Scott graduated in 2001 from Texas State University at San Marcos (formerly Southwest Texas State University) with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  When he isn’t working with banks, he spends his free time enjoying traveling, golfing, music, sporting events, and spending time on Lake Travis.  He currently calls Austin home.

James Monacelli, Sr. Portfolio Manager

Jim Monacelli has an extensive background analyzing, buying and running businesses.  He spent over 15 years doing profitability analysis in the hotel and restaurant industry for a major corporation.  Add to that another decade buying and selling companies primarily in the transportation industry and you can see why Jim is passionate about numbers.  He approaches real estate investment from the "number" perspective and gets to the bottom line quickly with bankers and investors alike.  He and his wife, Wendy, call Marco Island, Florida home with their two dogs, Fred and Sophia.

Stephanie Johnson, Portfolio Manager

Stephanie became involved in real estate investing in 2010.  Before that she served for sixteen years in the medical field, where she worked exclusively with spine specialists and orthopedic physicians offering comprehensive, individually tailored treatment to patients. This experience honed her skills in administration, communication, and negotiating, and strengthened an affinity for helping others achieve a better quality of life. Originally from Georgia,  she studied communications and public relations at Columbus State University. In 2002 she moved to Austin where she resides with her husband and their affectionate cats.  Outside of professional interests she enjoys traveling, animal rescue, martial arts, all things Disney, and spending time with her family.

Wendy DeWeese, Sr. Portfolio Manager

Wendy DeWeese has worked in the Insurance and Finance Industry for over 25 years.  As a company underwriter, she was responsible for risk evaluation and risk selection.  Much of her time was spent speaking with agents and mortgage companies on the telephone.  As an underwriting supervisor, Wendy handled training, customer service and was held accountable for maintaining a profitable loss ratio.  In 1992, she received her CPCU designation.  The CPCU is the premier insurance designation and is earned upon completion of ten insurance courses, some under-graduate and some post graduate level.  In 1984, Wendy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from NTSU (UNT).  She calls the southern part of Dallas home.
